I’ve been in the fitness industry for over three years, but I’ve loved sports from a young age. From netball to athletics, I could never seem to keep myself away. In 2015, I completed my degree in Exercise and Sports Science which only increased my passion for health and fitness.
I love challenges and accomplishing goals, I love that feeling of
accomplishing whatever I set my mind to. Every week, every day, there’s a new goal to achieve, whether it’s gaining muscle, losing fat or even just
eating healthier. Being a part of the SpeedFit team is fantastic as not only can I accomplish my own goals, but I can help my clients achieve theirs, too.
In my spare time, I play touch rugby and stay active. My biggest health and
fitness tip? Always keep a strong mind-frame. The more determined you
are, the easier it is to achieve your goals, big or small.
I’d been interested & curious about EMS for several years, having read articles & studies on the benefits of EMS training for rehab, strength training & improving awareness, while not impacting joints or flaring up injuries like S&C training could. It made sense to me. When you can do in 20 minutes what conventionally could take hours, so time is no longer a barrier, means I can help thousands more people achieve more from their life by improving their physical & mental health – that’s the whole reason I became a trainer.
I shifted from a successful role as an Executive Chef to health & wellness when 20 years of work-related postural & back-related pain left me in a revolving door cycle to the doctors & chemist. I took charge of my life in 2013 with the help a great trainer, improved my diet, lost weight, gained muscle, improved my mental health, my diet, my routine & became better at my job – although I was always running short of time & like everyone struggled to find the 6 hours a week of “me time” to maintain my mind & body. I wish I had found EMS when I started that journey!
The best part of my role at SpeedFit is I can help hundreds, potentially thousands of people, move easier, lose weight, reduce pain, improve their mental & physical health, all without risk. Without needing to load them with heavy weights, without being a burden on their busy lives.
I love movies & reading- anything to slow the mind & relax in my downtime. The inner chef still loves a tasty dinner (at home or out and about) & quality time with my wife. We’ll jump in the car and head for day trips north or south, or can usually be found in summer at a cafe near the beach or strolling along the water’s edge, getting the daily steps up to 15 or 20k.
